From pss-acs-vote-2009 at chem.plu.edu Tue Nov 9 09:28:09 2010 From: pss-acs-vote-2009 at chem.plu.edu (pss-acs-vote-2009 at chem.plu.edu) Date: Tue, 09 Nov 2010 09:28:09 -0800 Subject: [pss-acs-vote] test to Jennie, Jeff, and Craig only Message-ID: <4CD984A9.50305@chem.plu.edu> Jennie (copy to Jeff), This is a test using an email distribution list that now has only you, Jeff, and me subscribed to it. Here's some explanation, too. Without some hassles, It's not possible to create a new 2010 list at this point. I tried, but found that I'd have to go through administrative paperwork to get university approval to create a new list. What we can do, though, is use the pss-acs-vote-2009 at chem.plu.edu for the return email address you need. I've removed all of the 1700+ people that were on that email distribution list except for you, Jeff, and me. It isn't ideal to still have 2009 in the name, but from a technical standpoint this plan works. If this plan is OK with you, then I'll remove my name as a subscriber, so that you can use it for the actual election return email address. If anybody replies to the return email address from the SurveyMonkey ballot, the replies would go to you and Jeff, but with your email addresses remaining hidden. I'm trying out the listserve. Thanks for taking the trouble to find out about creating (or not being able to create!) the listserve for 2010. As I said in the previous email, I think creating a gmail account for the group might be a good idea for lots of reasons.
