PLU Chem Alum Steve Ufer Honored for a Much-Appreciated Career in High School Teaching
PLU chemistry alum Steven K. Ufer ('68) is retiring from Washington High School after 36 years in the classroom and lab. Mr. Ufer's teaching is legendary, having garnered awards that include the American Chemical Society Puget Sound Section Outstanding High School Chemistry Teacher Award. In his honor, the Frankling Pierce School Board designated Steve's longtime classroom the Steven K. Ufer Chemistry Room. Mr. Ufer's much-appreciated career was recently highlighted in the Tacoma News Tribune. Congratulations, Steve!
