2019-08-20 BBO Probe related

 

I spent some time working on the BBO probe. It has not been used much since the upgrade of Topspin to 3.2 and newer. The prosol information for it has not been updated and had no 90 degree pulse lengths or power levels. I worked with Bruker to get the values from our TS2.x install and have flashed the firmware of the BBO probe. I also have a new *.spf for our TXI probe which might be needed to go from TS3.6.1 to TS3.6.2. This can be flashed if needed but one needs to make sure about pulse lengths and powers pre and post flashing are correct.

 

So, I have setup the following nuclei:

  • 1H, 2H, 7Li, 13C, 15N, 19F, and 31P with powers and 90 degree pulse lengths. These are extrapolations the rover did from our TS2.x install.
  • I also added 7Li to the atmm table so it hopefully can find that signal to tune and match to
  • I editted the prosol table for the BBO probe (edprosol)
  • I editted edprobe to add 7Li and put inthe power setting
  • Cortab is estimated but functional 
  • The 90s likely need to be updated. I did use popt to optimize 13C.
  • I am not confident that 2H is setup well as there were some issues getting topshim 1d to run with low signal to noise levels. 

Things that likely still need tweaking include:

  • 90 degree pulse lengths
  • Better topshim 3d and 1d
  • Setting up iconnmr to run either the TXI or BBO
  • May need to flash the TXI probe with the new spf file
  • Odds are the 2H 90 / power is not correct due to issues using topshim 1d

Notes on adding a new nuclei as I understand it...

  • Check if TXI or BBO has the tuning range for the nuclei in question (see the nmr periodic table)
  • Check if any filters might block the freq.s needed
  • Checked edprobe to see what nuclei have peak powers and add if needed
  • Check edprosol for powers / 90s and put in an estimate until it can be calibrated.
  • Setup a new experiment for the nuclei initially off of the proton / zg experiment?
  • Check routing with edasp - likely working with which SGx is needed then the routing through the amplifiers / pre-amps and connections to the probe.
  • At somepoint check for proper 90 / power for the new nuclei
